Fall in love with lovable goons!

Munna bhaai has done it again. And the director has gone further by extending a really healthy message. I feel “LAGE RAHO Munna Bhaai” superseded the capers and prophetic leader. I was just wondering how the director would manage such a kind “Preachy” stuff but he did extremely well in this regard. In fact, to come up with worthy sequel was just monumental. Circuit has some tough competition this time. And he has passed pretty well too.

Story Line:

The movie started off with a Gandhian quiz where Circuit kidnapped professors. This is most pepped up scene of the movie. Brilliantly executed, wonderful dialogues, and subtle bonding (with circuit). The one of the most brilliant actors of Indian cinema (Sanjay and Arshad) is condemnable job and director has strike a balance.

Life was breezy for Munna. But Munna won the prize. And Munna bhaai won the “most coveted” prize i.e. chat with Munna bhaai and RJ Radio Jockey Jhanvi [Vidya Balan]. Though Munna bhaai have not seen so far. When ever he listen her voice, his skips a beat. The Greeting of “Good morning Mumbai” is full of exuberance. Munna want to marry Jhanvi. But there is glitch: Jhanvi thinks him “Professor of history”.

College scenes are just fabulous. Local goons masquerading as college students are superb. While whole situation went to absolutely haywire, but still love story for Munna-Jhanvi is not disturbed. Though overacting for a local goon (masquerading as college student) somehow distributed Munna. Circuit somehow handled the situation. The (kidnapped professor) actually identified circuit and called the police. Once again brilliant dialogues.

Post-interval part is humorous but it has very subtle message. Though it’s kind of far-fetched. Scenes where Munna bhaai transitions to a radio jockey looks quite odd at times (Oldie getting pension, Jimmy’s losing Rs. 7, 00, 000 in shares etc.). But still you will glued to your seats because Hirani’s master execution. One of best scene is where Munna slaps circuit. It brings tears to your eyes. Munna felt so guilty that he burst into tears.

Munna put forward “Gandhism” in every way of life. Though Munna had earlier hallucinations. Whatever he does, he goes in Gandhian way. Whether oldie getting pension, Jimmy’s losing Rs. 7, 00, 000 in shares, neighbors spitting in just front of household etc. Hirani has strike a beautiful balanced characterization through of the movie.

Music:

Shantanu Moitra’s music is quite mediocre. Best tracks are “Pal Pal Har Pal” and ’Bole To Bole Kaisi Hogi Hai” in my opinion. “Pal Pal Har Pal” sends Munna to memory lane and “’Bole To Bole Kaisi Hogi Hai” fantasize about Vidya. Even patriotic song “Vande Matram” track is soothing.

Star cast:

Sanjay: He has played his role just superbly. I just wondered how he would carry that “Gandhian” was thinking, but has played that role larger-than-life performance. His role totally gels up with Circuit and their comic timing. His humor, emotions and drama would sweep off your feet. I

Circuit: Arshad had again done it beautifully. Sanjay and Arshad have perfect timing. His previous like “Munnabhai M.B.B.S.”, “Sehar”, “Salaam Namaste” have already established him as a brilliant actor.

Vidya balan: She has come as welcome change. She had played a serious movie in “Perineeta”. This time she played a role of RJ. Her exuberance is unmatchable and feels like cool breeze.

Boman Irani: Its nothing say to about him. He plays a conniving person who asks Munna to seize a mansion. He again played a negative role but changed his heart at the end.

Mahatma Gandhi: Dilip Prabhavalkar has done his home work properly. He displayed a easy going kind of character and always ask Munna to follow right path.

Conclusion:

Credit goes all the way to Rajkumar Hirani. A transition from “Munna Bhaai M.B.B.S” to “Lage Raho Munna Bhaai” is well deserved. In a world of extreme cynicism and bitterness, he dreamt of Gandhian philosophy.

Its well deserved squeal and not to be missed!
