Bole To Superhit hai Bhai!!!!

Well, what can you say; Rajkumar Hirani is a genius with comedies and family entertainers. One advice, forget Munnabhai M.B.B.S. They are two completely different movies and if you forget about the previous one, you’ll enjoy this more. Both movies are equally good and are independent of each other.

The movie begins with another awesome kidnapping just like in the previous movie. Starts with the same pulse-thumping song Subha Hogayi Mamu. Then you get your first glimpse of Circuit a.k.a Arshad Warsi in his trademark costume. He’s “oh-so cool” in the movie. Then you see Mr. Booman Irani who has made a transition from Dr. J. Asthana to builder Lucky Singh, another awesome performance by him although J.Asthana was a better etched character. Anyway, this one’s good too. Finally, after the initial scene between Circuit and Lucky, you get the first glimpse of the adorable Bhai, Murli Prasad Sharma a.k.a Munna Bhai a.k.a Sanjay Dutt. He is in love again this time, only this time, he hasn’t seen the girl, just heard her voice on radio. And the radio personality is none other than the eye-candy actress Vidya Balan of Parineeta fame as Jahnvi. She’s an RJ with Worldspace and Munna is in love with her voice. When she declares over radio that the person who wins the quiz on Mahatma Gandhi on Gandhi Jayanthi i.e. on 2nd October will be called to the studio on her show, Munna decides to win the quiz and Circuit takes care of the rest in his own unique way. So, our hero, Munna Bhai wins the quiz and becomes Professor Murli Prasad Sharma and gets ready to meet the woman behind the voice he loves. When he sees her he falls in love with her all over again and when she invites him to give a lecture on Gandhi to the oldies she lives with, as they would love it. Now, our Munna is in a fix, he has to learn about the Mahatma before delivering a lecture on him and then begins the Journey of Munna from Dadagiri to Gandhigiri and the result is an awesome movie with not only great comedy but a good story line and an important message – Love is always better than War.

Another highlight of the movie, which I particularly enjoyed, is the way the Sadhu Maharaj(s) of our country are treated. These guys who claim to change our future just by adding an extra letter to our name, or the name of our company and who claim to predict our happiness and our troubles, are incapable of predicting their own future and our great country India should leave behind these old superstitions and move on. Enough guys. These guys are minting money at the expense of your emotions. Put an end to it and leave everything on God. He’s the one who sent you here; he’s the one who’ll take care of you, not these fake Demi-Gods. Three cheers to Rajkumar Hirani for his take on this age-old dogma of Indian people.

The songs are hummable and in the same rhythm as the songs of M.B.B.S. Some songs are really good, like Pal Pal Pal…

Jimmy Shergill and Diya Mirza have small roles but the characters they play are also well defined. A special appearance by Abhishek Bachchan adds to the glitz of the movie.

Watch it enjoy it and hope for another MunnaBhai movie and pray that it’s as good as these two movies.
