I have preferred this hospital for my wife’s delivery from advices I got from many that this hospital is famous for delivery. I wanted to have smooth process as well as claim my company insurance. First thing is that most of the insurance companies listed "Laxmi" hospital which is different one and not this one "Lakshmi". It was my mistake though you need to keep in mind that this hospital doesn’t provide any cashless tie up with any known insurance companies.
The biggest problem what I faced was the attitude with Doctors. They don’t want to explain or discuss anything. They just make prescriptions. I have started showing my wife there from her 4th month of pregnancy. They still asked us to do 5 Scans. When I questioned them what is the reason for doing all these while they say everything is normal. They said that it is the normal procedure there to undergo 5 scans. In case of any complications they ask you to go for more scans.
Another thing is that we thought that this hospital would prefer deliver and make use or at least advice or wait. They told us that since we had first case C-Sec they can’t wait up to the date and need to do the C-Sec. They will scare the patient with lot of medical terms and finally you will prefer to do that. They did C-Sec 10 days before the due date. Normally they does two weeks before.
I read internet that if you do C-Sec early like 10 days or before there are chances that your child will have breathing problems initially. This will be temporary called TTN(Transient tachypnea) . You can search google with this term and find out. This due to the water in lungs and normally get well in 2-3 days.
We had faced the same situation. After the C-Sec they took the child to NICU and kept there for 3 days. It was great psychological and mental effect you can’t survive. They won’t allow you to visit your child except in the allowed time which is 10-11 am. Normally they won’t allow the mother to see the child who had undergone C-Sec before 48 hours.The greatest difficulty there is that, they have a small lift which can carry maximum of 6 persons. All the time big queue will be there. When you are in urgency and don’t need to wait you have to run or climb all those steps. We have got the room in 8th floor and I was running to and from from 3rd to 8th floor because NICU is in 3rd floor.
They request to admit for one date around 2 pm and you have to wait hours and hours for getting the room. You will really get tired. We are in the world where all the technologies and information sharing are grown. No one can make anything hidden. The pediatrician never share you any details and simply extend the child’s stay in NiCU. For a small kid they do all the test and give antibiotics. I can’t agree with their treatment ever. Anyway it was my bad luck. So I decided that I won’t ever go again there.
I had paid 10k just for NICU charge of 3 days. Comparatively the C-Sec rate and room rate are less. But you won’t be in a mind peace and they will torture you. So if you have insurance and want to have a smooth deliver then try for some good hospital.
