My, my....I still cant get over this hangover.
I am not too sure I can write too many things about this movie. It’s good. In-fact it is too good. The photography is stunning. The editing is slick. The music is soothing ( One of them has a similar tune of DCH, but that’s OK ). But what made this a different genre is:
Acting
Direction (boy, ..he has stuff)
Story & Screenplay
let us take the first. Roshan Jr. has grown. He is convincing as the college boy. Well controlled in the first half & simply wonderful in the last. The scene where he points the peak and says this is his lakshya is too good ( without a hint of over acting). Amithab & Priety are convincing.
As a director Faran proves he can handle the smooth (DCH) & the rough (Lakshya) with the same flair. The subtle handling of the theme is very pronounced (No Manirathnam style loud messages here) This is a war film, where is not the main theme, but about the people who face the war...incidentally from both sides of the fence. ..and he does it with few faces (remember some movie called LOC? )
Well, with Javed Akthar you cant really expect a crapper.. right? and he does it with elegance. The story does not drag. It flows like a river. Nothing is too pronounced other than the protagonists Lakshya. The romance, The tiff with the father, even the war are all just incidental.. never too pronounced.
To make a long sentence short, only suggestion is Just watch it. ...and that too on a BIG Screen, not only for the photography. .but to do some justice for the money spent by the producer....
