Farhan Akthar is back again after his beautiful debut in DCH which was critically acclaimed.
His second film Lakshya is of different genre.It brings back (his father)
Javed saab as a script writer, music by S-E-L (shankar ehsaan loy) camera work by Christoper Poop
Choregraphy by Prabhu Deva and Vaibhav Merchant..The film is produced by Excel Entertainment.
The music is on Sony.
The cast includes Hrithink Roshan, Priety Zinta, Amitab Bachchan, Boman Irani, Om Puri, Amrish Puri,
Lilit Dubey, Sushant Singh, Sharad Kapoor..
The story
Karan Shergill (Hrithik Roshan) has a carefree life, no aim, no worries and confused.
He has no plan for his future(just like me!!) and when is very much confused about his plans for
the future.
His lover Romila Dutta (priety zinta) thinks Karan will be successful in future, its just matter of
time.
Karan joins the army but is unable to cope up in that atmosphere and runs away from the
academy back to his house.Romila is very angry at this incident and leaves him.
Karan is very much upset and goes back to the academy to prove he too can be a successful army personnel.
he then becomes Lt.Karan and is posted on border.When he meets Romila later he comes to know
that she is engaged, later he has to join the duty since intruders have entered Kargil.
The Lakshya for him now is his duty as a army personnel and recapture the peaks.
As expected he succeeds in his mission and also his lakshya...
Positive aspects of the film.
1) The first half, it has comical moments, Hrithik has good comic sense, he makes us laugh
2)The screenplay is amazing, it is well crafted.
3)Farhan Akthar has done a fantastic job..i feel he is currently one of the best
directors in BOLLYWOOD.
4)Main Aisa kyu Ho is a big highlight in the film.. not the song but the funny steps
choreographed by Prabhu Deva..Hrithik as usual has done a excellent dance steps.
5)The performance of Hrithik, Sushant Singh, Boman irani are terrific.
6)The dialogues are good and no pak bashing (directly)
7)The BGM (background music) is awesome.SEL are too good..
8)The cliff hanging sequence is extraordinary
9) emotional scene when Hrithik calls up his father is worth a mention.
10)Camerawork by Christoper Poop is extraordinary.
Negative points
1)The second half is littile bit boring like LOC.
2)The length of the film 3.15 hrs could have eliminated songs which drops pace of the film.
3)Music by Shankar ehsaan loy is poor none of the songs are worth remembering, except main aisa
kyun hoo that too because of the dance..
4)Amrish Puri, Om puri, Amitab Bachchan wasted in this film.
5)Priety Hrithik break up not justified..and the reason is silly
So clearly positive aspects are more than negative ones.
PERFORMANCE
Hrithik roshan steals the show..In fact it is only Hrithik who has role in the film.He is brilliant.
Priety Zinta is pretty and does a good job though her role is very short..
Amitab bachchan is good but is wasted in this role..
Amrish Puri , Om puri are wasted..They arrive in the screen for few minutes only..
Rest of the cast sushant singh , Boman irani have done a nice job.
BOX OFFICE PERFORMANCE
Lakshya has taken a bumper opening..It may cross 12 crores in its first week that is equal
to MHN..
If people like this film it may even break MHN record..
Final Stand..
If you like Quality movies Lakshya is a must see film..
Lakshya is a different film, nicely made film by Farhan Akthar, people should encourage
these kind of quality films.
It is also nice to see a war film without any pak bashing film at the time when these two
countries are in dialouge process.
