Yeah!why is it like this!

This is the first time am writing the review for a music album. Well, lemme first tell something. I am not a avid cassette buyer. I rarely buy anything else than rahman and some rock. Thats it! apart from these things, I prefer mp3’s basically bcos they are easy to handle.copy from some1’s machine to a cd and play in urs.

Well I meant to say that if I buy a cassette it implies that the quality is too good. I have been watching the teaser promos of lakshya and got hooked to it. Well who wouldn’t mind singing: main aisa kyon hoon? Well I dont. I still sing or rather think about it. So I decided to invest Rs.55 in the cassette and bought it

Now the review: the first song ’’main aisa kyon hoon’’ this song is .....good to hear. The basic thing I like about the album is that the lyrics r easy. I mean I am no gr8 in hindi. But this song’s lyrics is so good. Straight out of the heart I guess! I think even javedji must have thought the same way in his youth and then written this song. Shaan is another plus point to the song.

I can visualise him singing the song. Laughing and singing. About the music, its a mix of bond music, hip hop, 60’s style and some touches of rahman. This is no offence to the md of the film. But I can say that this definitely has some Rahman inspiration.

The next song is my favorite: agar main kahoon: gr8 singing by udit and alka. Well alka is not my favorite singer. Basically bcos there used to be a time when all the hindi songs were sung by her(no offence to her). This song is a little bit like jaana kyon from dch. Again the lyrics is gr8, and some usual shankar eshaan loy touches here and there. Ultimately the best song in the cassette.

The next song is kitni baatein: well there are two versions to this song. This sounds like ’’udaya udaya’’ from a tamil movie ’’udaya’’ by rahman. Even rahman has been using similar song in his subsequent movies.good singing by sadhana and hariharan

Next is the title song: Lakshya again javed ji scores full marks here! aptly supported by shankar mahadevan’s singing. Good arrangement. Probably sung when Hrithik joins army. The lyrics is like that!predictable.

Next is kandhon........ this is an army song. I mean the usual army song sung by the jawans (where do jawans get the time to sing I dunno) the lyrics are disappointing. The routine affair:letters with tears, jai jawan! and oodles of patriotism. There have been an immense number of songs like this. I will certainly be disappointed if Farhan shoots this song with all the jawans dancing and prancing (well he should be different na??)

Then there are two instrumental songs: one is separation:

Its basically the kitne baatien plus some western classical or semi classical tune. I can very well say that the tune has been lifted. I mean its sounds so much like the bgm of some english movie (I have searching for the original) buts its ok and suits the mood the other is victory: its an army song(guns and all those stuff). Good score.

Again some thing reminds me of some western inspiration thats the review. Over all the album is above average. But could have been better. Buy it as u buy other albums. Better than the routine fare of hindi (those dolaks and tablas with alka and kumar sanu cryin in the foreground). Hope the movie is not the usual army movie.
