I am traveller by heart, and hill stations always attract me(may be because I am born in one).
Although it is not one of the most visited hill stations, I like going there and even recommend other travellers to visit for many reasons:
It takes 6-7 hours to reach there from Delhi
Well connected via road, just take a bus for Kotdwar from kashmere gate, from there you will find jeeps or mini buses for Lansdowne.
Its quite(unlike other famous hill stations which are always overcrowded)
Dont miss going to army mess, church, tip-in-top, bhulla taal.
People are awesome there
Hotels are very much affordable(I got a room for Rs .1000/night in Le Osh). Le Osh serves good food.
That feel you get by seeing army people, parading in morning is beyond description.(Being a daughter of army man, I always admire army and cantt areas).
Great short-weekend back-pack trip. Pack you bag, leave on friday night, and come back on Sunday night. 1 day is enough to see it all there.
And you know what attracts me most? I have lived there for 5 years there with my father(when he was in army), so I always feel nostalgic going there.
