Ching Ching

The most popular promo for this series on US national channels is what the actors in the series think about the ’’Ching Ching’’ sound in between scenes in an episode of SVU. Each one says something different, one says ’’Wow’’ one says ’’Oh! its the doink doink’’ , another one about some paranormal calling crap. Well, it means one thing to me as well. Its the noise me and my house-mate are very familiar with and makes us sit up and watch another episode of Law and Order-SVU

The theme

The theme can be best described by the opening dialogue of every episode ....In the criminal justice system, sexually based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the members who make up this squad are known as the Special Victims Unit....These are their stories.... . So saying begins an hour long episode of investigating the sexually based crimes, arresting the suspects, trying the case and the outcome of it all.

The Cast

The regular cast includes abt 4 detectives and their captain. For details about the cast, you can go to https://imdb.com/title/tt0203259/. Frankly, the cast doesn’t need acting. All they need to do is look sombre and passionate about each case. But owing to the fact they are 5(or 6) seasons old, their personal stories are brought up once in a while making you think how hard it is for cops to lead a normal life!

The review

Well, to begin with, the nature of cases makes you empathetic right at the beginning. Sometimes the victims are little children. The things people do to them is so revolting. The show promises what it professes---deal with sexual crimes. What makes it interesting however, is the several twists and turns the case takes in the hour-long episode. Sometimes it ends up being something totally different to what it starts out to be. This is its winning point.

This isn’t a show to be watched by everyone. Its to be watched under parental guidance. This isn’t because it has any sexually explicit scenes, cause there is none. The guidance is for the actual situation in the episodes, which may need a lot of explanation and convincing from the norms. It is not recommended you watch this show if you get highly disgusted with what people can really do within 4 walls. (There was this one case in particular that had a father abusing his own daughter ever since she was 3.....that’s just too much!!!!) But, its still worth the watch because at the end of the day you get to see a lot about how to deal with traumatized children and victims, the right way to make them feel better about themselves etc.

This show definitely has my vote all the way!!!!
