Le Meridien, Jaipur - A 5 Star Dhaba

This is one Hotel with Serene atmosphere & Good ambience. Hardware part is pretty Good, Rooms are large, spacious, well appointed. Swimming Pool is quite nice & Gymnasiam is also well appointed. But to tell you the fact, my 2 day stay recently with them was a great disappointment.

First of all, My Room intercom was not working on the day 1. In fact, three handsets are provided in the room, but all were dead. I called up the reception thru my mobile. Though some waiter came, he could not do anything except checking up the phone jacks. It was only the next day, when the intercom was functional.

They do not provide newspaper in the rooms every morning. Strange, isn’t it? Even a 3 star hotel usually provides newspaper in the rooms every morning. And despite my request over phone to send a newspaper at 8 am morning, nobody bothered to send the newspaper at all.

My room did not have a Hair Dryer in the toilet. I thought this is not a standard amenity in this hotel. Later I found out that it was only my room, which did not have a hair dryer.

The Spread of Breakfast & Buffet meal menu is very poor and does not suit to the status of the hotel. Hotels like Rajputana Jaipur & even Golden Tulip are serving much better spreads over Breakfast & Dinner. Ask for a simple thing like a Masala Dosa in morning breakfast, you will be offered a Lemon. The service is also very poor. Usually drinking water is served once you occupy a table and proceed with your meal. Here even if you are about to finish your meal, they would not bother serving you water, unless you specifically asked for it.

At the time of checking out, I requested the reception to get my luggage(3 pcs) from my room. After a good wait for over 10 minutes, somebody appeared with my luggage, but only with 2 pcs. I had to finally go to my room myself and pick the balance luggage, since I was getting late and could not have afforded another 10 minutes.

I have experienced staying in all good hotels of Jaipur, but this was such a disappointment that I could not help writing about it. Hotels like Rajputana, Country Club or Golden Tulip are much better and the staff is much more courteous & responsive. Avoid this Hotel, it is not worth your money.
