Learning to drive is a big responsibility. You are behind the wheel of more than a ton of steel, going at speeds that can kill!
Before you ever get behind the wheel of a car you should have to sit through films of what happens when you forget to be responsible.
Have you ever seen a female driving along, without a care in the world.putting on her make-up? How about the man this morning, during rush hour, reading the newspaper on his way to work. Look at all the cars on the road where the drivers are on their cell phones. All accidents waiting to happen. Including the sweet old lady driving 22 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone. She doesnt have accidents, she causes them.
Another accident waiting to happen is that group of kids cruising around, yelling out the windows and just basically taking a joy ride.
When you get behind the wheel of a car, you are not there to show off for your friends, or get somewhere faster than everyone else.
You are given the priviledge to drive after studying driving manuals and taking a driving(road) test and passing. It is assumed(ha ha ha) that you will act responsibly once you pass the tests(written and road).
Driving a car is no less than flying an airplane. Take the same measures. Fasten your seat belt, check your gauges, check you mirrors, and check your temper at home!
Know and follow all road signs, dont jump yellow lights and obey cautions. They are posted for a reason.
Remember that a pedestrian always has the right of way, and always assume that the other guy doesnt have a clue on how to drive or whats going on. Drive with caution at all times.
Use common sense when you are behind the wheel of your car, just as youd like everyone else to.
And never, never, drink and drive!
Happy motoring! =)
