Lenovo N Series:Worst ever laptop[Bad Company too]

We bought a Lenovo notebook N3000 0689 model last year around mid-July for a price of INR 52000. It is used at home, and has been sitting on a desk protected by a voltage stabilizer and a spike buster and a dust-free environment. A few days ago, it stopped powering.

We double checked the power supply with a multimeter and it worked, supplied 12V. We called up the Bangalore office (from the web site) and was told to get in touch with the IL&FS office in BKC, Mumbai. Since it was a year and 2 months, it was just of warranty.!

The inspection fees was INR 1600 odd plus Taxes which I was ok with. They wanted a DD/Corporate Check. I suggested Cash, Credit Card or a personal Check. They insisted that this was the policy. I explained to them this was not friendly to retail customers ! I really did not have the time for getting a DD done. The run around started with most phone level personnel unable and not empowered to resolve my simple ask of a payment mode which I could immediately do. This was over a couple of hours. Later on a sales person asked me to email the model details and we found out that the price of the motherboard replacement was Rs 24000/-.

So at this point, it has been a very disappointing experience to say the least. A Rs 52, 000 plus unit breakdown in just over a year. Certainly, the product does not live up to its reputation! And the sub-optimal customer support experience that we received does not exactly inspire customer delight.

We did not see much evidence of a quality in the Lenovo product or in the support process - much evidence of customer centricity. For the future, I am quite sure I would never recommend Lenovo to anyone in my personal or corporate circle.
