I purchased it due to my budget constraints. Otherwise I would have gone for HP or may be Dell. I got it for 37000/- bundled with some good offers( They call it’Back to school offer’) .
No wonder this 4th gen corei5 machine works pretty well on normal uses, with its 4 gigs of ram but, you can’t get the best of it. It lags, a lot, when subjected to heavy tasks like Photoshop or Matlab( someimes it feels like pentium dual core machines inspite of it’s 4GB RAM) . And when you try copying large files, say 10 GBs of movies from some drive D to E, it hangs like hell. You can’t even navigate within the browser or the explorer.
Mild gaming is okay. Heats like all other machines. Battery backup is superb! On windows I got upto 4 hrs backup while always on WiFi/VLC/connectify etc. But on Linux it survives hardly 1.5 hrs.
Audio is good. Screen quality is okay.
Now the most important part is, it’s built quality and it really sucks! It has got problems with the hinges, mine is too loose and my roommate has got it broken coz it was extra hard. Also the body doesn’t feel to be sturdy.
Verdict!:
They call it a stupid box, but friends, this time the stupid is me( and whoever bought this idiotic machine)! Believe you me, it’s really disappointing in terms of performance. Don’t go for it.
