I am a lenovo customer since 1.5 years. I purchased IdeaPad Y510
(product model: 775843Q, serial no.ABQ0001105) I have also purchased
the extended warranty(upgrade) from 1/1 CCR to 3/3 Onsitelast year.
I am a single user of this laptop and use it hardly once a week. the
hinges of this laptop have broken again. this is the 3rd time it has
happened(1st in 20/02/2009, 2nd time in jan 2010). both the times,
the screen was replaced. my warranty is still there, but it is an
inconvenience to me to complain the same thing over and over again.
I read the forums of lenovo everyone using LENOVO IDEAPAD Y510 seems to be having the same problem. this model seems to have a designing defect, which cant be solved by replacing the screen and hinges each time.
I requested the company to replace the laptop and not the screen this time or find a permanent solution to the problem. they havent responded in any manner.
