The ultimate business laptop.

I purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad T410(new version of IBM Thinkpad T60). I’ve always wished for a Thinkpad laptop ever since it released in 1992, 18 yrs later I finally did, at a much more affordable price than it used to be when all laptops crossed 6 figures. Well what makes a Thinkpad different from every other affordable laptop like Acer, Compaq, HP or Dell? Let me explain through points:

  • Magnesium alloy roll cage for stability & hard disk protection.

  • Waterproof keyboard

  • Thinkvantage motion sensors(gyro sensor+ accelerometer) that shuts off hard disks seconds before impact(like airbags in a car).

  • Rubber lined casing for noiseless performance and added impact protection.

  • Scratch resistant synthetic rubber surface.

  • Durable hard plastic keyboard with rubber undercasing for low typing noise.

  • Trackpoint+ dual zone mouse keys(top+bottom) for effortless mouse browsing.

  • Thinkvantage One Touch Data Recovery button.

  • Option of 9 cell battery for 12 hours of work time.

I have been using the laptop for over a year now, and I’ve been pretty careless with it as well(not that I dropped it) but the laptop has worked in shaky/jerky environments, and dusty outside climes long enough without ever crashing or giving up on me even once. The price, though almost 40% more than standard laptops, is well worth the price, its highly suitable for business professionals on the go, and even with continuous operations for so long, the battery effectiveness has gone down merely by about 20%. Most of you may say that a normal laptop will do and that Thinkpad’s toughness is merely a concept for those who want to be proud of it, well it is a niche product no doubt and mostly only the Thinkpad fans go for it, but thats what it is in the end, you either have a Thinkpad or you dont. Try it and I promise there’s nothing to hate about it.
