Lets Not Talk!

Till a couple of weeks back I never knew that there was a movie called ’Lets talk’. I came across this VCD. I was very skeptical about this movie because I don’t think there are many movie makers in Indian film industry who have handled the subject of extramarital relationships with maturity and sensitivity. But, hoping to prove myself wrong, I decided to give it a shot. I regretted that decision 15 minutes into the movie.

The story is simple. A woman is having an extramarital relationship and she is now pregnant. The baby is not her husband’s. She imagines the different ways in which her husband might react when she tells him the truth. Sounds interesting? Know what?? the interesting part is over!

It seems the movie has been shot with one camera.. a cheap one, a couple of characters who act more like stage artists than movie artists and 3-4 completely ridiculous versions of the husband’s reaction on hearing the truth.

Sometime back I had reviewed ’Boom’ and rated it as an insult to movie audience and as the worst film ever made. I came close to rate this somewhat similar but then I did not have much expectations from this movie and I did not feel totally cheated when watching it... unlike ’Boom’.

I am not able to think of any similar movie to compare but I hope the director of this movie got a chance to watch Richard Gere’s performance in ’Unfaithful’. There was nothing amazing about his acting but it was adequate, well performed and very honest. Lets talk makes extramarital relationship look like a comic book joke.

Once again.. I want my money back!
