The company gives freshers a superb platform to experience consulting, right from the word go. Granted, it does not prepare the employee well for what is to be done on the job, does not have any structured learning tools nor processes, and really has not much peer learning goes on.
They hire you, for the sole reason for making up numbers, crossing their fingers, hoping to put you on-site, mostly in the GCC, so clients are satisfied that enough consultants are physically present.
Heres the funny bit - despite the fact that this company throws you into the ocean with no life jacket, that very act allows independent and proactive learning, a form of learning that can be termed as learning through discovery, the best form of learning there is. The company probably doesnt realize the true calibre of their employees. If they did, Levtech would realize they have a super team of employees.
Now, a platform is given to you, but what you do with it and how you utilize this platform, the onus lies entirely on the individual. Its a FOR-PROFIT organization, cant expect too much.
They dont pay too poorly, but nothing to mention either. A smart employee will come to this company, hang around for a couple of years, work hard and learn as much as possible, and probably jump to another company. Kinda sad, really.
Now. if it is a going concern, they really should look to retain a good core. Pay a little better, reward accordingly and take care of employees better. Dont let good employees slip away for lack of pay, which is ridiculous, because the Company definitely makes enough to pay employees well.
All-in-all, it is a frustrating company. Almost all employees have a love-hate relationship with the company. In my opinion, the company should really start streamlining their processes, and make the transition from a small company to a more professional mid sized company, and make the culture such that people would love to work here and STAY HERE. Do not let people leave. Pay a little better, give a little more benefits, and most importantly, recognize, and reward capable employees, give them leadership positions and utilize them to their full potentials. Will it happen?
