It was 2009, when my husband purchased this television set. At that time, its cost was around 61, 000 whereas today you can purchase it much cheaper and for that price range you can even go for better ones with more facilities and even light weight and thinner products.
I won’t suggest it to be a best buy as far as current generation and latest advancements in the technology is considered. Its not easy to shift from one place to another as its very heavy may be around 20-22 kg. We even faced the problem of wall-mounting it as the wall was not strong enough to hold the weight on screws.
At the same time, I can assure you few things, if at all you decide to go for this set.
First and foremost is its consistent performance, reliability and durability. We have not had a single complaint in these 7 years, even if we have shifted it from one place to another thrice and we are really happy with the rigorous performance it gave us all through these years. Therefore, its real value for money.
Secondly, is its sound quality. This product claims to have 10 speakers with 5.1 virtual surround effect, 700 watt audio output and stereo playback. I am not aware of these things but can assure that it is very loud and clear without any extra speakers or woofers and often all of us with our neighbours watch IPL and other matches together and we enjoy a theatre feeling at home.
Finally, is the picture quality, though the picture quality also depends on the network provider, still the television also contributes a lot. We were lucky to get free Videocon D2H service with this television set and we are using it till date but we have upgraded it to HD. Anyways, it gives you a clear picture and vibrant feeling with all those animation effects, cartoon channels, etc.
In all I love this product, but won’t recommend it as you can have 10 better options.
