Never buying LG again! In December 2013, I purchased an LG LED from hhgregg. Exactly 25 and 1/2 months later, like others in this forum, it has a completely black screen( no picture at all) . I did not purchase the extended warranty, because I never imagined that a brand-new LG TV would stop working a mere 25-1/2 months after purchase. Also like others in this forum, I have learned that the cost to repair will be close to the price of buying another TV. Repairing this TV will be throwing GOOD money after a BAD product, and who knows how long the repair will even last?
I talked to both LG( who said my only recourse was to get it repaired), and an hhgregg salesperson who said, In a perfect world, things would last forever, but they don’t make’em like they used to. That’s why we tell you to buy the extended warranty. Hello? Not looking for forever, just looking for a product that lasts more than two years. IF AND WHEN I buy another TV, it will be the biggest, cheapest I can find, with no expectations. Don’t be fooled by brand names. Apparently, it’s all junk anyway!
