I got a PC assembled from a neighbourhood vendor around 10 months back. This guy suggested (rather pushed ) me to go in for LG monitor since it has 3 yrs onsite warranty. So, I got this 17 LG 700E StudioWorks monitor.
So far the performance of monitor has been ok but not satisfactory. The major problem is with the quality of the picture. Try to run the movie in full screen mode using windows media player and you will notice the problem. A grid like structure is clearly visible on the screen.
Technically speaking, this problem is due to the poor quality picture tube that results in poor resolution. I brought this problem in notice of the vendor and this guy assured me that he will contact LG sales people for this.
Couple of weeks later, the vendor told me that this is inherent problem since the LG people have dropped the quality of picture tube due to drop in prices !!!! Phew this is really amazing, isnt it ?
Before going for this monitor I owned a 14 samtuel monitor. Its still giving fault free service with good picture quality. I have also used Samsung and HP monitors in office and their picture quality is also very good.
Personally I dont think that 17 LG 700E StudioWorks monitor is worth buying.
