This phone has been making waves for its battery life and the features packed into it. I bought this phone recently but there have been some issues with the product.
Pros: The phone packages a loads of features at an economical price.
Descent 2MP camera with modes, video recording, voice recording, calendar, task list and alarms. Good music player with preset equalizer and playlist support. Descent sound quality. Good battery makes phone usable for 3-5 days on single charge.
Cons: The product design team has not given consideration to the usability of the phone. Many features of the phone are accessed after many key presses, hate it. No customization of the phone calendar and tasklist alarms only one preset fixed which is not changeable. With such a good battery the life’s not as expected. Phone is wasting much energy even when not in use. Equalizer cannot be customized to own taste. The video recorder does not record the sound, it is muted I don’t know why?
My experience: After buying I tried connecting phone to the pc but failed. I went to the service centre and they provided a new cable as the one supplied with phone was bad. Service was quick but reflects bad quality checks at LG production unit.
After a few days I noticed that the phone’s calendar alarm system was not working, so had to make a second trip to the service centre only to find that the software needs upgrade. Again no quality checks at LG production unit.!
This is the second time in ten years after 1998 that I tried LG product only to be disappointed by the poor quality policy or practices or someone at LG not doing justice to his/her job. For sure I’ll not buy an LG product again!
Can some company out there make a descent phone with good battery backup excluding camera and yet all other features of music phone? I think I’ll have to wait:-)
