5 Star Split

I did quite a bit of research before zeroing in on this particular LG model. The reason why I went for this particular model over a Window A/C was for that this has 5 stars with an EER of 3.17 and there are NO 5 star window a/c out there in the market.

I tried Hitachi and OGeneral window as well. These are definitely premium but the respective sales chaps told me these would be 3 star and best in their category. This model was definitely within the same range as a Hitachi window(2K more actually). I bargained a bit and got this model for 23150(with a Bluebird stabilizer). The MRP for this model is 24990. So there is scope for bargaining!

However, there are additional costs on actuals(1500 for installation - I bargained and got it done for 1300, plus fittings - 700 for a wall stand, Copper pipes, water pipe etc . cost me a total 3300 extra in all). You would need to add cost of an awning depending on where you fix it - keep it away from direct sunlight and well ventilated. It cost me 1350 approx. Additional for cutting your glass pane through which the pipes go into the external unit! So the net cost worked out to 28000(approx). This is the actual ball park figure you are looking at to own this model(2K more if you are not able to bargain hard)!

About the A/C itself - I’ve been running it for the past two weeks now. I’ve given a 4 star for Service and support because I was promised a demo after fitting. The chaps are yet to turn up. Installation went pretty smoothly and on time - they kept their word on the day and date ditto for the delivery!

Cooling is quite good so far - at 43 degrees outside, I got the room cooled down to 25 degrees in half an hour having set the temperature to 18 degrees. No discernible sounds. I can hear the crickets at night outside with the AC on full blast. A five star there. Quality and durability - I have not found anything to complain about so far . of course it is only two weeks old. All in all a good buy considering the unit only consumes 1120 W(which I think is THE lowest in this category for all split ACs - at least I haven’t found a better one so far). So go for it, but budget 28K - 30K TCO for this machine if you’re considering it
