I am now adding few comments in italics after having used this phone for more than a year, because when one gets used to something, the feedback about that product als changes..
Let me start my review with -
Why did I purchase this product?
===I needed a phone from reliance at lesser price. It was priced at Rs. 4500/- ten days before, and rate was reduced to 3500/-. I wanted to have a phone with R-Connect. Although most of people discouraged me to buy reliance due to billing problems, I just thoght to give it a try.
My major reasons for buying this phone was its sleek looks. Features, I assumed would be at least okay.
What I liked and dislike about this product?
- Now, its about liking and disliking. Only thing I liked was its looks and works as a phone :). It has R connect, if you have data cable you can access internet on your PC. R-world can be accessed (presently free).
Important point to NOTE: If you want to use R Connect and really want to get good speed, DO NOT BUY any data cable from BAAZEE or EBAY, this way you will get a cheaper data cable but a download speed of 1 kbps instead of arund 40-60kbps with a data cable from Reliance WebWorld. Cable from Rel. Webworld may cost you from 550 to 1000 depending upon brand but its better to buy this cable only.
- Ringtones are normal (polyphonic), but while operating the phone anyone may get frustrated.
First bad thing is its slow response, when you press a key to find a number in the phone book, it takes much time.
As the phonebook keeps on growing, it keeps on getting slower..initially when I had written this review, I had around 20 contacts, but with over 200 contacts its DAMN slow..
Second bad thing is complex to use, may be one get used to after a span of time.
Now I have been used it, may be because I had switched from NOKIA to LG, I faced this problem. Actually anyone can get used to it over a period of time..
Keys are very hard. You need extra muscle power to press them!!! :)
I have now improved my MUSCLES, so I dont feel that its a problem any more.. :)
anyway, I guess because I had switched from NOKIA(Soft Keypad) to LG, I faced this problem.
Typing SMS is hell. Its worst that you can see in any phone. Anyway while going for this phone just try this feature, if you are a frequent SMS sender.
You will get used to it..
MOST bad feature !!!: When you put this phone on charging, it keeps on charging forever !!! It never says that its fully charged now !!! Also while charging its moonlight remains ON. Surprising technology by LG !!!
Although, light is always on and you really dont require a NIGHT BULB in your room, but light indicator on charger changes its color to green fro red once its fully charged. while charging its color is red.
Why did I choose this brand over the others?
