A good phone from reliance - LG RD 7130

I used to have the Samsung SCH N191 (b&w) handset from reliance.. last october I decided to upgrade to the LG RD 7130

I bought this handset in Oct 2003 under the monsoon hungama offer.. and I can’t say that I regret the decision

First looks..

when I took the handset in my hand, I was spell bound by its display.. it has a 8+1 line, 65, 000 colour display with amazing clarity. When I tried to use it for the first time it did take a bit of time for me to adjust... (I had not read the manual, though)

As for features, it has well almost everything other than a camera..

Looks are definitely feminine and sexy.

Features I like

- the menu is real smooth and easy to use once you get used to it

- the buttons are real nice and spaced out and not cramped like many of the mobiles today

- you can see you sms form the outer screen itself and you can also reject calls without opening the clamshell

- The phone has a phone book of 1000 entries 8 x 4 nos per entry = 4000 number phone book!

- you can even draw faces of people and can use people’s voice as ring tone

- the schedular is also exhaustive and has many pda like functions

- the phone comes with two batteries included. And you can charge the batteries with the phone itself (as we all do ) or with the battery out of the phone.. (a very very nice feature). This is really useful for people who travel

- the handsfree is sexy.. and acts like a tag too

- the phone’s display options are almost infinitely customizable.. you can even change the location color etc of the banner!

- has a 50 inbox capacity and smsing from this handset is a joy

in general , a good phone

The missing features

In this phone, you cannot assign different ringtones for different people .. can you believe this for a phone which costs 25k?

This phone is a bit bulky to use. The phone website says it can sync address books from outlook (on my pc) and other data ... but there is no software provided with the data cable which allows us to do so.. surely it would have been a lot of fun to do it, .. seen my friend downloading wallpapers from my pc to his cell (the T310))

Overall this phone is good to use if you need reliance. This phone is more suited to the ladies I guess... but I seem to have fallen in love with this lady
