We came across "Life away from life " through one Mumbai Mirror ad. Me, my wife and one personal friend signed up for one of its treks for Coorg. The company was represented by one Mr Prateek Deo, we paid him 11, 000 Rs for a 3 day trek, in return he assured us that everything in the trek will be managed by him including food, hotel stay and site seeing in coorg. When we reached coorg, we were put up in a very shoddy place whose actual rent was Rs 400 per bed.
We had a nightmarish experience throughout the tour. The main guy prateek who came with us as trek guide, is a moron who cant even talk to people with decent manners forget about expecting good hospitality from him. Food during the trek was not arranged at all. All we were given was breakfast(came complimentary from hotel) and a reletively decent dinner. Last day was supposed to be reserved for site seeing but we were told that there is no such thing, and we were on our own.
We felt cheated and royally ditched. I think if we had gone there personally it would not be even worth 5000 Rs per couple for 3 days. After coming back to mumbai when I asked around within my friend circle, many of them concurred and gave totally negative reviews about this company. There were past occassions where money was taken from travellers but Mr Prateek failed to show up at the destination. With so many other better adventure-trip organizers in mumbai who do an excellent job, I would strictly NOT recommend Life away from Life( https://lifeawayfromlife.com/).
