However, I hate the look of mud on my lips. That dried, caked on look, is just not for me. Yet, that’s what I got when I tried the new Max Factor Lipfinity lip stain.
Always being fond of Max Factor products, I eagerly looked forward to trying their new lip color. It turned to be, instead of a dream come true, a living nightmare.
First of all, it doesn’t really go on very evenly. As you swipe the spongy wand across your lips, the first part gets a huge lump of color which quickly thins to almost nothing as you continue your swipe.
Okay, so you redip the sponge and apply more. By the time you’re done trying for that even look, you have put so much lip color on, it looks more like you fell in a puddle of colored mud. You can’t wipe off the excess, because should you wipe it on your chin, cheeks, or wherever, it will not come off.
Another problem I found with this product is that it will wear off in time, but again, it wears off unevenly. After about 6 hours, I found the lip area near the opening of my mouth was completely without color, yet there was light color on my lips but a much darker rim on the edge of my lips. It was horrible!
Should you want to try this lip stain, be sure to take the product out of the box and check the color. The little round color indicator on the box lid is MUCH lighter than the actual color of the stain.
It advertises that it is available in 20 different shades; the one I chose was passionate. It looked great on the box. It looked horrible on my lips!
As much as I like Max Factor products, this is one that I will no longer use. I was very disappointed in it.
Guess I’ll be sticking with my CoverGirl Outlast - not only because the quality is much better, but it’s also much cheaper.
