For the beer Connoisseurs

It was in Goa a few weeksback that I saw them first. Little Devils. Sitting on the rack, they wesmiling, waiting for some innocent soul to pick-em up. As you know I am aninnocent soul, I did that. They were 6 of them. Just so that I do notdisappoint any one, I took them all in my arms and there they came home. For thefirst time. Those tiny, dark devils were cute. Wheat, Lager, Strong Lager, Golden Ale, Pale ale and dark.

They are good. Real devils. With a real bite. The best ofthe lot was Wheat. Its different and I really like it. So much so, I got acrate from Goa to Blr(shhh.dont tell anyone). Before that, let me give a small taste and flavour commentary on them.

Lager: Well, it’s a bit different from the KF types. Has a bitmore body and nice nip. But, its just a lager;)

Strong Lager: I am not a big fan of Strong. I some how doesnot like the over dose of Hops. It has to be subtle.

Golden Ale: The second best of the lot. It is distinct andwith a nice woody flavour. The colour, even though mentioned Golden is veryclose to the strong(well then both are golden)

Pale Ale: Nothing great to talk about

Dark: Its not the stout type. Its just a mature type oflagery taste. I was expecting the Guinness type of flavour. But no.

Wheat: Hmmm.Bottle licking good. The bitterness factor isthe least. Very refreshing(or was it the Goan heat?). Did I get a bit offruity flavour? Think so. All I know is it was really great with the Goan buttergarlic squid.

It’s a pity that its still not available in the pub capitalof India:(.Waiting for it to make an appearance. Go for it. Brilliant.
