I just saw some reviews here over this topic. I have been away from my home, here in USA, for past 4 months on a H1 visa for 3 years. My workplace is highly compact group, and my boss had told me that he would be filing for my green card after some time.
I reached USA all unexpectedly, while I was finishing my PhD work. Today I am working with one of the pioneers of my field. My salary is pretty good. I am able to do ample savings and my family has been given 100% medical health and dental coverage with me. My leaves are paid.
*But I have submitted my resignation to my boss and going back to India.
For this decision, almost nobody supported me. Those who are in USA as well as those who r in India. But I am very much confident on my decision. I can’t stay long without India.
I agree with most of the people here that the standard of life is much high in USA. So high that you are forced to do so. If you move it should be with car, if you drink, it should be bottled water, if you eat, it must be salads, bouritos, boiled or raw cabbage in bun, if you celebrate forget any Indian celebrations, you have got just 14 days of public holidays, if make your floor dirty, call a cleaner as there is no pit in floors to exit wash water, haircut 12-15 dollars, and you pay almost 30% tax on your income if your are new here.
And if you are married, the goodness is so high that your wife, who comes on H1 dependent VISA, is not allowed to work, even if she is qualified.imagine the situation of those who are simple graduates or not at all! They are destined to pass who day waiting for husband. It gives you another purpose and mission thereafter.get some citizenship or your wife someway qualified/called for job which will consume a good time. You call this life? And imagine a situation when your are ill sick there and missing all loved ones, the enjoyment of being together and masti in consolation session.
All those sitting here who say that USA is better than India, are idiot bhagodas, greedy of money, soaked in self, who just go with myth and help in creating it. Most of the NRIs here are spineless. Simple pakistanis and polish people have got by default their channels in TV, but Indians have to do special arrangements. When outside, chineese will speak in chineese, vietnameese in their toungue, polish in pulsvik but these Indians, they wear english sleeves on their toungues even talking to their children.
And when you see their children, half baked soda, I just pity that if by mistake they fall in India, what the hell resident indian kids would do with them! I find that grooming of Indian children in USA is poor while their European counterparts do really good parenting. What is the reason for the generation of a coming Indian generation which is destined to get booted in their USA high schools as well as in India too!
*It is truth and may hurt many here who are pleading that they like USA more than India. These people are pure slave mentality and lazy. They are incometent to comepete with their indian fellows whom they see as backwards, but irony is that those beakwards made them fly away from their own home!
They get booted here but still love to stick here. I have seen here people from punjab, desperately gettign entry and doing anything from cleaning toilet to illegally working in the restaurents, just to stay in USA!
They don’t find anything which is their natural partner be it language, food, dress, culture, entertainment mode.**all fake and they just assimilate it and say that it was tasty!
To my resident Indian friends, don’t listen to these bullshit NRIs. Believe me. Most of them are fake person for whom money is everything and for that they are here.
This is majority of Indians, for whom money weighs more than loved ones. They stay engrossed in themselves, so much so that even if you wish to give them some time .they can’t take, becuase they have no time!
The extreme of lonliness which me and my wife felt here compelled us to leave and get back to India. Those who have got gutts to wear what they are not can only appreciate their life in USA, and by chance most of NRIs here are like that.
And please don’t pin much hope on them. AT home they portray themselves very high and important but believe me.they are of no use for the country till they return back or open some company in India itself. They are in USA, what one calls, **highly paid labours, and it’s the truth.
USA is a land, which I love and respect and I will do so even after I leave it. It called me to work unexpectdly and with high respect. I could meet my profession’s model due to her. I have immense respect to USA and will always see her with high regards for the opportunity she gives to the deserving people. **But same time the life of USA is not as vibrant and homely as India’s . Of course if you are outside India, USA is the best place to stay.
I like USA but not NRIs becuase NRIs are bigs fakes not USA. If they would have wished they could form their groups, cultural festivals and even get holidays sanctioned for festivals. But they can’t! USA is a open land for all, but why holidays are just by the way of a particular community? Why not that equality comes in the presence of all communities? Why Indians here need to meet others only when they need something?
USA is the land for workoholics those who live and die for work and money. If you want to be fully in it at the cost of your relationships, your emotions and your loved ones emotions, your are most welcome. Get up in morning, work till 5:00 PM. get back home, try to ind if something makes you feel happy, and wait for the next day for the same routine. Amid this all have high profile bathroom, sleek roads, wondeful walmart and safeway, shop like animal.
This was for California, where by god grace on the name of public transport you get VTA and Caltrain. But if you landup in places like Arizona, Flourida or Wyoming, god save how the hell life would be where one can’t imagine even an Indan restaurent. It depends highly where you are. For Indians the best places to stay are: NYC, NJ, Washington, Heuston, Boston, California.
But none of these can give you that self originality which you leave far away in India.
Agreed people fight there, but the same take care of yours too in need, roads are broken.so what.even that road smiles friendly, politicians are corrupt, I hope I will be among those to wipe them them out, OK I will be getting lesser money there so what? At least I will be able to have my identity my originality, my loved ones, the cricket sessions, if get tired of excessive work take break and go to himalayas.and by god’s grace enough money to have a heartful respectful life in the place which gave me birth and I prefer to die at the very same place instead of taking rebirth in some false paradise where your own are more farther and naives are closer and better friends, a place from where you can’t even make trip to home for more than once a year and to get a hug of your parents and loved ones either they have to wait for a year or you have to. Rest if you value otherthings more than these, certainly USA is paradise, ( I call: Paradise for Bhagoda NRIs).
