We had our new home designed by LivSpace. Here are few things you might not be aware:
1)LivSpace outsources its complete work to third party contractors. The result is that those contractors use subpar material and do a shoddy job of finishing touches.
2)They often advertise that they provide 10 years warranty. This is misleading as this warranty is only for furniture that you buy from them. This warranty does not apply to Paint Job, or any civil work or Items you procure from outside. As an example, within 6 months we had paint peeling off and the kitchen platform falling off. When we contacted LivSpace, they bluntly informed us that since the kitchen platform slab was not LivSpace furniture, there is nothing we can do. Similarly, for paint job, they brushed off their responsibility.
3)Missed timelines. My project was delayed by more than a year. The reason they cited was covid restrictions. As I mentioned earlier, they subcontract and in absence of its own team, they often miss the target timelines.
4)Ask them for a reference site visit. They were unable to show any.
5)Hidden costs. They are prompt in providing you with the complete quote along with the Bill of Material. But its so complex that you simply cant make out whats included and whats not included. In my case, to make their quote attractive, they excluded so many things that at the end of my project I ended up paying a cost that was more than what I was being quoted by another designer.
6)Customer Service is not up to the mark. We tried raising complaints but faced a wall. You dont get to speak to any manager. The only communication is via email. So in case you face an issue after the project is marked COMPLETE by LivSpace, god helps you. Nobody will listen to you. Im trying to get them to correct shoddy job, but to no avail. There is only so much you can do on email!
I wont recommend them considering that they claim that they are providing 10 years warranty and being cost-effective. Both of these claims are false in my experience.
Avoid if you can. Use individual interior designers. Take reference from any friends who have had a successful interior renovation and seek to have a site visit to at least two sites. Do this, even if you end up more than.
