Bikash recommends LML Freedom Prima 125 Disc

Hi Friends,

With the introduction of new 125cc bikes i.e. Prima 125, Victor GLX 125, Fazer and earlier the Wind 125, most of us must be confused as to buy which bike in this 125cc segment. Surprisingly, I have friends who own these bikes respectively and I have test driven all of them.

The Prima 125 seems to be the most stylish of the lot followed by the Fazer. From my friend?s experience, I got to know that in Fuel economy Prima 125 is the best which gives between 56-65. Victor between about 52-60, Fazer with about 48-55 and the worst is Wind 125 with about 40-48.

After much research and by gathering information from the internet i.e. overdrive India?s no.1 Car & Bike magazine, I decided to choose between Prima 125 & Fazer. I sold my old Victor GL 110cc and later brought the Prima 125 Disc brake with 5 gears because the Fazer lacks the both i.e. disc brake & 5 gear option.

Now its been a month since I bought the bike and the performance is absolutely amazing. The start is much smoother than any bike I had ridden till date. The brand new engine is a truly well refined unit with hardly any vibrations and does admirably in performance and fuel efficiency. With a notably improved silky smooth gearbox, the new Freedom Prima 125 is clearly the winner. The ride and handling combo is truly in a class apart as is the beautiful riding position.

The chain is silent unlike the Hero Honda bikes. Certain additional features like introduction of tachometer, fuel economy indicator are of much help. The pillion rider seat is very comfortable. So far the performance of the bike is superb & am totally satisfied with it. Pickup, braking, road grip at high speed is incredible. The mileage is quite decent at an average of around 58 kms/ltr. Freedom has a Gear interlock which will not allow you to put the vehicle in to gear unless the stand is removed which no other bikes have in this segment.

Now with the experience of riding all the 125cc bikes mentioned above here are some Cons of other bikes as compared to Prima 125.

In Victor GLX 125 if you try to wring the throttle more the engine does sound and perform very harshly. The handlebars also start vibration in high speed. The Fazer is good overall but lacks the disc brake and 5 gear option. The bike sometimes took too long to halt when braking.

The seat is too soft. It has two headlamps which many people may not like. The Wind 125 for its low mileage and maintenance cost but otherwise a good performance bike. After sales service is very bad.

So, if you are in situation to go for a new bike (either Prima 125, Victor GLX 125, Fazer or the Wind 125), go for Prima 125 Disc with 5 gears. It is a value for money bike. It does not mean that FAZER & Wind 125 is not good, but the guys at LML have seriously worked on the cons of old Freedom DX (which has a remarkable mature machine).

THUMBS UP for LML for coming up with a bike like FREEDOM Prima.

.......definitely go for it.
