I think if You are travelling in Mumbai local you should leave all your smartness and make a low profile to travel by this. You should stop thinking about ur clean cloth and also wether u have taken bath or not.
Also in what condition u will be reaching at ur destination u wont know, but since you can take chances of travelling without ticket it’s worth.
If u try to be smart chancess r that u may get beating from those who r regular travellers.
Mumbai locals r such crowded and regular travellers are so united that once I saw two Europeans watching and taking so much interest at the passengers as if we r monkeys and have come from onother world.
This journey is such that u cant get such feelings anywhere in the world, leave aside by what ever mode u travell. Its different.
