Lonavla is another favourite holiday place where I like to go.Last time that I visited Lonavla was when I went there with my parents and my sisters and their family.We were deciding where to go as my parents cant take long travels because of their age so the first place that came to our mind was Lonavla as it can be reached there by road through the new build 33Km Express highway which hardly takes 2-3 hours or by train which is also comfortable.
I like Lonavla for its green valley, beautiful hills, lakes and waterfalls.Generally everyone visits Lonavla so it becomes very crowded so to stay in town would have been useless as we were going there to relax and to enjoy.So we were deciding where to stay and read of an advertisement in the newspapar of Shivshanti Holiday Resort which sounded good so decided to try that.
When we reached there we were quite surprised that hardly any rooms were occupied even though we loved the place for its quiet and serene atmosphere away from the crowded places.Next time anyone goes there would recommend they try this place out.It cost around 700-900 for a room where even four people can stay.We can see greenary all around a lovely place to stay.The only drawback is we have to place our food order half an hour in advance as nothing is kept ready but the food is excellent.Better than any of the restuarant that we tried.
There are many places to see out of which Bushi Dam is the most famous.It is the best place to go in rains with its waterfall where we can have hot tea and ’’bhuttas’’ that is corn with lime and masala on top which generally everyone has.In rains the view is beautiful.
Besides Bushi Dam there are many other places to visit like Valvan Dam, Shivaji Udyan, Karla Caves, Duke’s Nose, Lonavla Lake.
It is famous for its Chikkis and Fudges but according to me not upto Matherans standard which I prefer.
It is a place where families, students, honeymooners and even middle aged or senior citizens can visit
All in all an excellent weekend getaway.
