I have been living in lonavla for the past 3 years. As a resident I am not a very keen supporter of lonavla as it is very far from pune as well as mumbai.
But as a tourist I find this place absolutely gorgeous. In rainy season this place is absolute heaven. Lonavla is the major centre for shooting for various hindi movies. Lately Taal, Khakhi have been shot here and many more.....
Sahara has done a tremendous job in improving the infrastructure of this place and also for the easy accesibility. Ya I know they had their own interests too. sahara itself has been lately a tourist attraction for verious people.
It takes 3 hrs from mumbai and 1.5 hrs from pune to reach here.
The major tourist attraction here are Bhushi Dam, Lions point, Dukes nose to name a few. A Couple of lakes are also here so that you just sit and watch the beauty of the area with your humsafar besides you and the famous lonavla chikki in your mouth. Clouds flow very low here giving u a very romantic feeling, great spot for couples to come and enjoy here.
