So, I hate cold but some of my relatives reside in London and I had to go to visit them.
We landed at Heathrow airport and the weather was freaking cold ! But the city was beautiful-especially the architecture and history.
I am a lover of science and so, a visit to London’s Science Museum was amust for me.Over there, I saw amazing objects from Stephenson’s Rocket to the Apollo 10 command module... Just loved it ! We visited the British Museum ............ We saw some very famous things like the Rosetta Stone, sculptures from the Parthenon, the Sutton Hoo and Milden hall treasures and the Portland Vase.
My relatives told me that a visit to London isn’t complete without a spree to Tate Modern.Britain’s national museum of modern art from around the world. It is dwells in the erstwhile Bank side Power Station on the banks of the Thames. The breathtaking Turbine Hall runs the length of the entire building. The next day, we paid a visit to London Eye- It was an astonishing symbol for an amazing city. The world’s largest observation wheel offers a fabulous way to take in over 55 of London’s most well-known landmarks in just 30 minutes!
And then, we went to the Tower of London-OMG! It was beautiful ! The Tower held many famous prisoners, from the highest levels of society; some in comfort and others less so… Over there, we visited the places of their confinement and read the graffiti left by prisoners from over 500 years ago.Gazed up at the massive White Tower, tiptoed through a kings’ medieval bedchamber and marveled at the priceless Crown Jewels. The famous Yeoman Warders have bloody tales to tell; we stood where heads rolled and prisoners wept.
London was mesmerizing-it was an ethereal experience, I almost traveled back to those times when I visited the Tower of London and seeing the Apollo 10 command module was really something !
