I used L’’Oreal Men Expert White Active Oil Control for quite some time this year and I can say that I gained more displeasing effects and less satisfying ones.
L’’Oreal claims the following for their product:
¦cleanses and purifies to remove dirt and dead skin cells
¦brightens with vitamin C for a healthy look
¦absorbs excess oil and impurities with charcoal
¦treats and prevents breakouts with salicylic acid, and
¦leaves skin looking fresh, clean, and matte.
Let me start my review by pointing out this juncture which I could agree from their claims: the cleansing and purifying effect. It’’s true. I do feel refreshed and revitalized even after just one wash.
Two things hinder me from liking this product, however, and they are as follows:
It does not brighten one’’s face. In fact, after 1 week of usage, I seemed to noticed a dark spot developing on the left side of my lip. It grew bigger and bigger as days passed that it became fairly noticeable. The funny thing about this dark spot is that it is bilaterally symmetrical. It wasn’’t alone. On the right side of my lip is another dark spot that grew similarly as the one on the left. I stopped using this product when one of my co-interns asked me what this thing is on my face. I answered her with silence.
It does not prevent pimple breakout. Even after weeks of usage, I still have those irritating red thingy.
In conclusion, it is not a fair trade for its price. I won’’t rely my face on a product with one good effect and have two bad ones.
