The Lost Symbol is a real pacy read. It breaks away from his earlier two most famous books Angels and Demons and DaVinchi Code and moves into more like the Deception Point territory.
It has though a very familiar construct. An assasin named Malakh, who instead of being Albino isTatooed, and a female scientist who is researching Neotic Science, a link being ancient mythology and modern science (which bizzarely is true!)
This book also tries to give a far deeper meaning to US history, the various sources of inspiration, and adds to the mystique of Free Masons. Dan Drown takes its readers through a culture tour of US with constant references to Egypt, Greece and what not. It must be said to his credit that none of his refrences are fictitious and every thing that he says is real and it exists.
This too is exactly like his earlier two books. The lost symbol is about a lost deeply burried secret that is guarded by a committed set of brotherhood. Nothing new hear either. Much like his earlier book, it is hard to put down the book once you start. It is racy, pacy and very entertaining.
