There can be no two ways about love

Imitaz ali after a stupendous success with jab we met tries to pin his hopes with yet another plot trying to differentiate the changing trends with people falling in love these days with those in the past . But ends up with the message there can be no two ways about love .. when it happens it has to be just one way ..

jai played by he saif meets meera played by deepika padukone on a casual date and the aquintance gets them to be kind of the best of friends , partying at will , and sharing .. meera and jai have there ambitions cut out professionally as meera wants to go over to India to restore antique arts in the fortress while jai awaits a opening at the Goldengate inc at sanfransico ..

Year passes and one fine day the two meet to decide on breaking there relationship a practical decision at the point in time and decide to go there ways and maintain a long distance relationship just through emails , sms , mobiles and the internet.. Rishi kapoor as veersingh runs a restaurant in the Uk and is surprised when saif and deepika celebrate there break with break party hosted to all friends . He in turn tries to win over his ideas to saif with narrations of incidences of his past romance , with harleen kaur yet jai can in noway relate himself to what he says ..

Time flies even as jai and meera share , talk and exchange all that they do and people they meet and date .. events turn up just in a manner in which jai and meera can never forget each other and they meet and yet again break to continue there long distance relationship... however time comes when meera is eventually married to vikram and jai is kind of feels the loneliness suddenly occupying him and the sudden turnup of events thereafter is what makes both of them realise that they are in love and it can never go wrong ...

The director has carefully differentiated the modern day relationships with that of the olden days where lust has no place in true love ... saif also plays as the veer singh of the younger days ..The major problem with the screenplay comes in the choatic placement of the flashbacks and is kind of really messesup with what otherwise seems to be a clean and neat movie.. songs in the movie is good but none really impresses to stay with you as one among the all time favourite..

Deepika is utter ease with the character and the way she flirts and kind of potrays her serious side of life is impressive.. Saif is at his usual best and as the sardar is even more appealing .. Rishi kapoor has nothing really to prove with his acting just plays his part well even as we see a glimpse of neetu singh as the older harleen kaur ..

cinematography is decent .. well the biggest shortcoming of the movie is in the manner in which the flashbacks are editted and confuses at times.. The movie definitely brings out the priorties of modern day youngsters and how they confuse a relationship and how they look at life in terms of being practical . however love finally succeeds and unites people , bonds hearts , change lives and thats what is love aajakal is all about

the movie is worth a watch but certainly not a trend setter or one to remain in your memories for long .. It just is a smooth sail nothing extraordinary but neverthless love aajkal reflects the modern day trends in relationships..however between the jai of the modern day and veer of the olden days veersingh and his romance with harleen kaur comes out winner and provides neccessary respite...you certainly feel for them to be united not so when it comes to jai and meera and .. thats the missing trumph card in the movie as its not engrossing that you feel for jai to be united to meera as much as it should have deserved ...
