Good timepass movie

This is a movie starring Sonu Nigam. That’s right, he acted in this movie. It was released early in 2004. It is a funny love story with some thriller mixed in.

I just saw it on DVD. And I was actually fairly entertained by it.

I guessed the big twist at the end, but I didn’t guess the why. The twist made sense though.

There was great, funny acting by Rajpal Yadav (the video pirate in ’’Kal Ho Naa Ho’’).... and a self-assured, somewhat charismatic performance by Sonu Nigam.

I also liked all the female characters, and actresses who played them. Sandy’s hairstyle was really cool! (I wish I knew the name of the person who plays her.)

On the negative side, there was a little over-sexualization in one of the song sequences. Also, Sonu’s character was a bit of a jerk, and maybe a bit of a MCP (’’male chauvinist pig’’) too.

Sonu Nigam’s character may have been sexist, but the movie was not. The lead woman character saves the guy’s life twice, and the guy and girl both have their helpless moments.

The song picturizations were generally okay aside from the pseudo-pornographic one that I mentioned earlier. There was one druggy one which I found rather interesting -- but it gave me bad flashbacks of visiting my friend from college’s co-op a few years ago, and seeing the druggie mess there (yuck).

Not a must-see, but not a must-miss either. My score: 7.5/10
