I will never forget this book.
I will never forget Oliver Barret IV.
I will never forget Jennifer Cavilleri.
Its been three weeks since the first time I read this book, and I still cant stop thinking about it. I already knew that Erich Segal was a master of the art. I mean, Ive read Doctors about 50 times. But somehow, despite having heard the name about a million times, I never had gotten around to reading Love Story, which is hard to beleive (Its actually referred to in countless Hindi movies!).
This is a book that I would recommend to everyone. Its only been three weeks since I read it and Ive already made a great deal of my friends read it and bought copies of it for my parents and brother. Its a timeless classic, Im sure Ill make my own children read it.
What was amazing about this novel was that from the first page to the last, I felt as though I knew the characters. I laughed at Olivers sarcasm and Jennys wisecracks, I smiled at the bond that formed between two people who were nothing alike, and I cried until my eyes hurt at the fate of their love. This is a story that reknews your faith in love.
Yes, this book made me cry more than any other story Ive ever read, but do I regret reading it? Never. I guess it just goes to show; It is better to have loved and to have lost, then to never have loved at all.
