Mmm.. Love story evokes so many memories in me.that first line is a real hooker. and then after that you’re addicted.
Jenny and Oliver. Romeo and Juliet. Howard Roarke and Dominique. Why is it that love stories never end happily? basically the message they’re sending is that you can’t be great lover unless something terrible happens to ruin it all. the best thing to happen for a great love story is for both of you to die, and if not both, then just one.
don’t get me worng though, I loved Love story. but at some point beyond the tears and the sadness I rolled my eyes at the sentimentality.
there are books I read and reread. Love Story isn’t one of them. I can’t take so much tear jerking drama very often.
essentially a good read for those who cried in little women for when beth dies. and may I recommend Doctors for those who swear by love story?
