IMAMBARA.
The Imambara is an Indian institution more popular with the Shias, a sect of the Muslim community, who assemble here during Muharram, the first month of the Islamic Calendar. Imambaras do not have a set pattern like the mosques. Its style, architecture and unity vary with local cultural influence.
As soon as the moon of Muharram is sighted, Shias prepare for a period of mourning and they assemble at the Imambaras to mourn the tragic martyrdom of Imam Hasan and Imam Hussian.
