Short and sweet, and to the point review........
I joined Lycos, because it was (yet another) free site with search engines, games and E-mail.
You can set it as your home page, set up your user profile and get just about any of the necessary things any pay internet provider has, but it is free.
It’s fine when you use it for just another extra E-mail drop, but when you use it as a search engine or play any of their games, watch out! You wind up with plenty of spyware! Which leads to plenty of junk mail.
Spyware is a complex system where there is a type of monitor which runs ’’behind’’ everything you do and everywhere you go on the internet. It tracks your every move and sends you bulk and junk mail pertaining to any subject you look at. And just about every other type of mail they can get away with.
I still use Lycos to play games (because a lot of their games can’t be found anywhere else.) But, I run my ’’Ad-Aware’’ program after each game I play to rid my system of any spyware lurking in the background.

So, I’d still recommend Lycos, for the free E-mail and free games, because it loads fast and has many interesting things on it, and it has good search engines, but I’d strongly suggest installing Ad-aware first.
