When I was just a new comer to the Internet, I had spent much time searching for that perfect e-mail provider. Mailcity was one of the first providers, out side of my ISP, that I signed up with. For the most part I have been satisfied with their service.
There are many features that I have with Mailcity that I do not have at my CompuServe address. Some of the ones that I find I like the best are as follows:
1.) Create folders: I find myself using this quite often. There are times when I like to save an e-mail and come back to it. An example being when I get notified about opinions that I want to read. Many times when I am checking my mail it is not a good time to go to the opinion, so I file it under opinions and come back to it when I can read and give a just review. This to me seems much easier than putting it in the old My Favorites and then searching through to find it.
2.) Spam Blocking: This gives me three options of protection.
A.) No Protection: This lets any and all mail through to your mailbox.
B.) Medium Protection: With this one your box is blocked from those
places you choose to have blocked.
C.) High Protection: This one only allows mail to come through from
those whom you have in your address book.
Another thing I really enjoy with this site is that I can check all my other e-mails. As I stated earlier, I am a relative newbie and am checking out as many options as I can. I found myself with a few more boxes than I need, but want to find the best service I can.
I also enjoy being able to check my mail from where ever I am. There are times when I need to be away from home and it is nice to still be able to check my mail. I was surprised to find out that I could even set up to check my CompuServe address. This is quite helpful as it is my main e-mail.
Mailcity provides me with 4 MB of disk space. I find this to be enough even with all the things that I save. There are many times when I have over forty e-mails and I think I must surly be running out of space. To date. I have not.
Like everything else, Mailcity does have it short comings. At times it is very slow and I wonder if I am going to fall asleep while waiting. Then there is my all time favorite, after waiting forever, the dreaded connection time out.
For now this e-mail provider does what I need, so I think I am a customer for a while
