Tamil film industry is improving a lot ....with many new fresh heroes and heroines making their entry into this dream industry. And this film from the director of ’’jeyam’’ and the remake of block buster telugu movie ’’Amma, Nana, Oka Thamizh Ammayi’’ in south india. Hero ravi brother of director raja had done a good role, not only he had improved in his physical fitness but also in his actions, body language and style.
’’M.kumaran , son of mahalakshmi’’- film name itself will reveal anyone the theme lying behind the film. Film starts with hero(ravi) as a small kid with ambition of becoming kick boxing champion , then as kick boxer growing under the care and love of his mother (former heroine -nadiya)........Infact good looking young chap is shown as PLAY BOY. Nadiya is portrayed as a lover who cares and sacrifies her love, passion for her husband .
In first half story revolves around nadiya and her son (ravi)....(full of motherly touch...even a song for revealing it).Hero kick boxer hates his father since he left him and nadiya ... and nadiya doesnt tell him why his father left.And mean while he falls in love with keralean girl heroine asin ..and calls her as ’’malabar’’ .
Then comes song with romantic touch ..and he reveals his love for her to his mother. She bless him and talks with the girl.....and in short span with unexpressed love in her heart heroine goes away. Then when he is thinking about his love matters , ravi hears his mothers serious condition in hospital due to heart problems.He rushes there. But she dies revealing the secret about his father’s identity .
He gets shocked to know that guru of kick boxing is his father. He goes to meet his father (prakshraj ) in malayasia , known as eashwar in the film, he gets shocked to meet his father with another woman-old heroine ishwarya (also a daughter for them)... then again romance between heroine asin and ravi continue there and it goes on ......how he proves that he is a good son of mahalakshmi ...is remaining part of film ...
Hero has worked a lot to bear the fruit and he will be surely happy with his performance in this film .His stunning actions are well captured in the camera ...with many real actions done by himself (it seems he went ’’boxing ’’coaching)and heroine asin looks very good in all dresses ....(hmmmmm!!!!!!!)
She looks very beautiful and charming in ’’chennai chentamil’’ song .....(.hope she gets a lot of chances in tamil film industry !!!!).And vivek has his own comedy track with comedy dialoques relating to social awareness and present situation of tamil nadu people...(atleast he understands people ’s grievances !!!!!)
Music by srikanth deva is another factor driving film to the success with good melodious tunes like ’’chennai chentamil.....(sounds like a carnatic song ’’mahaganapathim....!!!!!!!’’)and ’’aiyo aiyo....’’
Last but not least nadiya and praskash raj not only realistic in actions but also very lively and proved their experience in acting. Overall it is a good entertainer to watch except for some of the overactions of the hero which he might thought it as action!!!!
