Not the best biopic but good for a watch.

MS Dhoni the untold story must be watched by everyone. Based on the life and of the Indian cricketer Mahendra singh Dhoni, this movie gives you a fair idea of the struggles faced by MSD.

Story:

The movie is based on the life of a smalltown boy MSD and how he ends up becoming a cricketer( despite having good interest in football) and India’s most successful captain ever. The struggles faced by him both on a personal and professional level from the rest part of the story.

Star performances:

Sushant singh Rajput who plays the captain cool Dhoni has certainly impressed everyone with his performance. His cricketing skills are perfect and the most accurate representation ever done by any other actor. Disha who plays the role of his first girlfriend has done a good job and has impressed everyone with her simplicity. Kiara Advani has also done a decent job. Anupam kher who plays MSD’ S father is amazing. Bhoomika chawla has given good support as his sister. All the other actors have also done a pretty decent job be it the boy who plays young Dhoni, his coach in school or his friends.

Music:

The music of the film is a big let down and the background score too is quite average.

The only good songs according to me were Tujhme khoya rahu mai & Jab tak. But a lot more was expected from this biopic.

Best Scenes:

Almost every scene in the film is special in some or the other way but the scenes that impressed me the most were when he loses his firstlove, his helicopter shots, when he receives his first jersey, when he meets his old friend towards the end and of course the finals against Srilanka.

The runtime of the movie is a pain at a few moments. Even Bhaag Milkha Bhaag had a long runtime but that movie never really makes you feel that. While in the case of MSDhoni I felt that the story was being dragged in a few places( such as his childhood days) . The screenplay was sort of dull at places. The first half was slow. Second half was comparatively better. There are less controversies highlighted in the film.

Direction by Neeraj pandey is good. I believe it’s his best.

If you are a cricket fan then M.S Dhoni is certainly a movie that you should not miss but I found this biopic to be the least motivating biopic ever made.
