It was good to read, different opinions on this University. In my opinion, much will depend on the attitude of the student towards his / her study. How strong are his desires to excel in life, how focussed he is on setting his aims in life.
Very interesting opinions have been presented about this university. But, just an attachment with any institute for three or four years can not be sufficient to form a final opinion for this place. I did my engineering from this university and found that there are many good assets with this institution, like its teachers, its library, its campus, varied courses being tought under a single institution, easy accessibility to teachers, its cultural programs and yes many campus interviews.
It is a common human psyche to point out always the wrong happenings around us. But friends, let us analyse is that attitude helping us? Afraid not. There might be politics, there might be student unions, and yes there might also be study materials with short answers and some times empty classes. But still this university has been able to give gem of persons to the world of science and technology, commerce and arts. viz Mr. Hingorani ( father of FACTS technology).
Best part of this university is that a person gets in touch with different students not only from different parts of the country but also from the world. You come to know about different cultures, different life styles. Also the Hansa Mehta library which is termed as one of the largest library in the country, its collection of books is really appreciable. And for all those hungry for information and knowledge this is an ideal place. University has also come out with its many online facilities and many computer terminals providing internet facility giving an open access to the world of information.
I would be rational by stating there are some cons too. Attendance at university needs to be checked regularly, which is slowly being effective.
Friends, university or a college is a temple of knowledge, it would depend on how much one is interested in learning. After completing your higher secondary education it is always expected that an individual attains a level of maturity to think of his own good and bad. You do not need any compulsions and if any free time available utilize in some constructive work rather than just brooding over the negative aspects. No human is perfect utilize this useful time for cementing your weak areas. No University is intended to ruin an individuals life it is human nature and attitude which is individuals greatest enemy. Identify it and try to overcome your negative attitude.
This university is a better place to study and develop yourself not only in the field you are studying but also in other fields. It is always open for those who want to learn and grow. It helps in attaining your goals and helps you to create your individuality in the world around you.
Best of Luck!!!!
