Hello Friends, mother day is approaching, as a reason of which the buzz in the card and gift shops is increasing. But why do we need to have just one special day to acknowledge the importance of the mother...her contribution to the society and building of the nation is tremendous. May it be the mother of poor MOTHER TERESA or the mother at home. The whole year she is treated in whichever way but then why is it that she becomes so IMPORTANT all of a sudden. Anyway, I wont talk much about that since it is left upon the new generation to think about...here Im today to write review on one of the poignant movies wherein JAYA PRADA played the role of the loving mother.....lets see what else is there in the story.
Starcast:-
Jeetendra...... Ram Khanna
Jaya Prada...... Maa, Mamta Khanna
Aruna Irani...... Maya Khanna

Kader Khan...... Ravikant/CID Officer
Birbal...... Hotel Manager
Sahila Chadda...... Mona

Story in nutshell: -
Ram Khanna meets Mamta during a dance performance and falls in love with her charm and innocence. In just a matter of few days they marry and soon Mamta gives birth to a boy baby, but as is written in her destiny she is killed in an accident. But how can a mother stay in solace when her baby is in trouble, there are people who want to kill the baby as well and take over the whole property. In the whole process shes is helped by her DOG, since Dogs can see the spirits....and what happens at the end is what is to be seen in the movie.....so just watch the movie and see MAA KI MAMTA.
Performance: -
JAYA as MAMTA
She leaves you in tears towards the end. She has been able to trigger emotions, and the most inportant thing is you dont get bored hearing her accent. But ya, you do feel bugged seeing the helplessness of the mother. What if she is dead, yet again why is it that she cant touch anyone and cant be of much help to the crying child. Why is it that shes to be given the power by the TANTRIK to carry out all her wishes. Mother has given all the powers to mother then why is it that this mother looks so HOPELESS. Anyway, she as an actress is promising nad more than that her dance SAWAN MEIN AYEGA, has really come out well. The transition from the glam to simple is really good though not as good as that of MOTHER INDIA.
What I say: -
JAYA......kids will really be happy to see your victory at the end but not me. your character lacked maturity.
Score: -
6.5/10
JEETENDRA as RAM: -
A loving and caring husband, the jumping jack should be reminded of his duty towards his son, who is left under the sun and left to die. What if your wife is dead you cant leave your only son in the security of others. Sounds dull, I guess lot of jumping as a reason of which our jack is feeling tired and singing AINE KE SO TOOKDE KARKE......
What I say: -
DULL.............
Score: -
5/10
OTHERS: -
All other characters do their part well, BABY GUDDI tickles you and ARUNA leaves you all vehement........nothing else to say baout themovie as the central character is MAA.
DIRECTION: -
The script had certain flaws, that directors either ignored or didnt notice. though the movie did well but yet again we dont want another EKTA KAPOOR type stories......family drama should be carried out with elegance and complete sincerity.
That all I would say as such.
