Maanaadu - To begin with, a completely new and distinct attempt in kollywood with a crystal clear screenplay pattern, Maanaadu will be Venkat Prabus’ best film to date. Yes, I preferred it over Mangatha and Chennai 28, which were my favourite of his. The 24 crafts was film brilliantly embedded within a project that was quite difficult to explain.
The very sensitive political issue was approached in a very subtle way with some hard hitting dilouges without overdoing the emotions and deviating the plot, but it still had a takeaway and made an impact, even after the emotional underplay on the religious issues that have been happening around us for a long time.
Finally don’t miss Maanaadu on theatres; you will leave with a magnificent feeling that you won’t find in commercial films, and you will be proud of kollywood for executing something that has long been regarded as marvel in such a simple and lovely way.
The anticipation and waiting were well worth it.
