Why? Well, if you have tried this drink on a hot day, or even after a meal, you would have realised that it does not make you all flatulent after a while, much to everybodys relief ;)I will not tell all the wonderful properties of this drink from its label, like “All the Vitamins and Minerals.....” zzzzz... Instead, let me bring you to the new bottle that Maaza had been launched with a few months back. The New Bottle comes with a new logo, and is about 1.2 litres. It is shaped with a bulge at the top, and is well, OK, I suppose. The only problem with this is its cap. It is REALLY TIGHT, and since it comes with nice ridges in it, it means that we can all cut our hands trying to open it. I would recommend using a cloth over the cap to open it. And well, at Rs. 36 for all the trouble, you might feel a bit shortchanged, especially considering a 2 litre bottle of fizzy cola will cost about a little more. But sample it, and you will find that this does actually taste a bit genuine. It actually does taste as if mangoes actually went into it, unlike those wonderful excuses for Orange drinks (Fanta and Mirinda), and best of all, there is no fizz, so, as I mentioned earlier, you have no gas problems. It is a bit thicker than the fizzy drinks, but that only serves to reinforce that fact that actual Mango pulp was used....which bring me to 2 of its competitors, Mango Frooti, and Jumpin Mango. Regarding taste, I would say that Frooti tastes a lot like Maaza, and that Jumpin just feels a hint more artificial. Their prices are very close, so I would not let that be a deciding factor regarding a purchase. All in all, I must say that Maaza is a nice, cool, and fizzy.... wait, thats not right, is it? Maaza is a more natural beverage to have, and in my opinions, is tastier than Colas.
