A masterpiece

Madari is a story of a common man engulfed between the corruption of bureaucracy and the struggles of a single father. Irfan khan as Nirmal plays his role to perfection. Losing his seven year old son to a bridge collapse, Nirmal sets out in his quest for the truth.

He kidnaps the ten year old child Rohan the son of home minister, Prashant Goswami and travels with him as a common man across the country.

The CBI and the army start with their investigation. Initially it is assumed to be a case of lost identity but finally Nirmal calls the home minister and asks for his son whom he had lost in the accident as the ransom. Meanwhile the CBI led by Jimmy Shergil as Nachiket Verma hunts for him. After days of drama and several phone calls Nirmal’s identity is revealed. In the climax of the movie Nirmal forces ministers and the corrupt officials to come out with the truth of the corrupt practices. The movie’s tagline apltly describes the storyline

That means Eagle snatched a chick and flies away, the story seems true but not great. The chick fights back, the story isn’t rrue but feels great. Signifying the fightback of the common man against the system which had wronged him.

Director Nishikant Kamat comes back with a bang after Drishyam with this social thriller. A low budget film worth the money spent on it. The actors played their character well mostly, Irfan khan being the brightest star. The underrated Jimmy Shergil though under utilized plays his part elegantly.
