Madagascar: Escape to Africa

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, the heroes of the zoo, Alex the Lion(voiced by Ben Stiller), Marty the Zebra(Chris Rock), Gloria the Hippo(Jada Pinkett Smith), and Melman the Giraffe(David Schwimmer), along with unlikely friends such as King Julien the Lemur(Sacha Baron Cohen) prepare to return to New York in an aircraft flown by penguins. However, few complications in the plane force them to crash-land in Africa, thus starting a new chapter in the lives of this awesome foursome.

Soon Alex realizes his roots belong to Africa though he considers himself a New Yorker, he even re-unites with his family here, Marty finds himself lost in a pool of his look-alikes(similar species) and thus finds a reason to stand out instead of fitting in, Melman confesses his love for Gloria and Gloria finds herself being pursued by a larger male hippo! To add to this confusion, Alex finds himself in a soup as his dad expects him to prove his’fighting skills’ assuming he is famous in New York for the same reason. Little does he know his son entertains by dancing instead!

The film sends across beautiful messages like:

Accepting people the way they are

Love can be found in a dear friend instead of a stranger living miles away from you

Nothing is impossible if you give in your best

And last but not the least, believing in yourself

Besides the wonderful animation, the story is emotional, engaging and extremely entertaining. The characters are as lovable as they were in Part 1. Ben Stiller and Jada Smith impress a little more than the others, owing to the perfect portrayal of their respective characters. The penguins and monkeys entertain too in this one. The music is feel-good and foot-tapping.

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa is a thorough entertainer which helps you escape the mundane real world for a good ninety minutes as it recreates the magic of its prequel. This film will be a crazy treat for both – kids and adults alike.
